Isaac Espinoza is a highly respected reinsurance executive, strategic investor, and actuary with over two decades of experience spanning underwriting, capital modeling, corporate strategy, and InsurTech investment. He is currently the CEO of Kettle, an AI-powered insurance company focused on mitigating the growing risk of wildfires. At Kettle, Isaac leads efforts to leverage data science and climate models to reshape how wildfire risk is priced and managed across the insurance industry.
Prior to joining Kettle, Isaac spent nearly five years at Root Inc., where he led reinsurance strategy and corporate actuarial functions for the tech-enabled insurer. He also served as Managing Director and Board Member of Root Re, overseeing risk transfer and capital efficiency at scale. Earlier, he played a pivotal role at Greenlight Re, where he helped launch and lead Greenlight Re Innovations, investing in and supporting early-stage InsurTech startups including Sana, Coterie, Battleface, and Openly. He served as Board Observer for several of these companies, providing both technical expertise and strategic guidance.
Isaac began his career in actuarial roles and reinsurance underwriting, developing deep domain knowledge across property, casualty, mortgage, A&H, and specialty lines. He holds the designations of FCAS (Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society), FSA (Fellow of the Society of Actuaries), and MAAA (Member of the American Academy of Actuaries).
Isaac is known for his ability to bridge actuarial rigor with entrepreneurial vision—bringing a rare blend of analytical depth, product insight, and leadership to some of the most pressing challenges in modern insurance.
