Sunereum Labs and Jump Point AI Named Winners of InsurTech NY’s 2025 Startup Competition, Earning $100K In-Kind Prizes

INSURTECH NY – NEW YORK | APRIL 7, 2025

In front of a packed audience at Chelsea Piers during the InsurTech NY 2025 Spring Conference, two emerging startups stood out from more than 100 applicant companies to take home top honors in the InsurTech industry’s most anticipated pitch competition. Sunereum Labs and Jump Point AI were announced as the 2025 Competition Winners of InsurTech NY’s annual Startup Competition, each receiving a $100,000 in-kind prize value to propel their businesses forward.

Jump Point, one of our 2025 Competition Winners, took the Carrier/Broker Prize. Jump Point is transforming broker operations through the power of agentic artificial intelligence. The Canada-based startup, led by co-founders Jerry Chien and Yuri Kaplan, offers a system of AI “agents” that act as virtual support staff—triaging emails, synthesizing PDFs, and managing data entry with little to no human supervision. Their solution, already deployed with early customers, targets the bottlenecks in modern commercial insurance workflows. Jump Point’s platform is designed to unlock new levels of productivity for brokers, especially those grappling with manual intake processes and an overwhelming volume of client interactions.

Sunereum Labs earned the Investor Prize after delivering an electrifying pitch in front of our investor judges. The company positions itself as a purpose-built Managing General Agent (MGA) focused exclusively on providing insurance solutions for the clean energy ecosystem. Led by co-founder and CEO Noel Myers, Sunereum blends underwriting expertise with a forward-looking vision for sustainability and risk management in the renewable energy sector. The company is already making waves by enabling project developers and energy buyers to reduce friction and cost in insurance purchasing for clean energy infrastructure.

The 2025 Competition Winners were selected during a live pitch session on the main stage of the InsurTech NY Spring Conference, judged by a panel of esteemed investors and industry executives. Judges included representatives from Lockton Re, Manchester Story, Grange, Arch, Homesteaders, Gallaghers, State Farm and many more. The selection criteria focused on market opportunity, business viability, traction, and team capability.

InsurTech NY would like to thank the prize providers for this year’s competition:

“The quality of applicants this year was outstanding, but Sunereum and Jump Point stood out for the scale of their vision and the clarity of their execution,” said David Gritz, co-founder of InsurTech NY. “Both companies are solving real pain points in the industry, with innovative solutions that are already gaining traction. We’re excited to support their next chapter.”

The competition drew more than 100 startup applicants from across the world. Ten finalists were invited to present live at the Spring Conference, held April 2–3 at the iconic Chelsea Piers in Manhattan. The event brought together over 1,000 insurance leaders, innovators, investors, and technologists for two days of panels, networking, and deal-making.

InsurTech NY, the largest insurtech community in North America, runs the annual competition to spotlight the most promising early-stage ventures in the insurance space.
